The Tamil film industry had a very sad day when experienced stuntman SM Raju (52), also known as Mohan Raj, died during the filming of Vettuvam, a movie directed by Pa. Ranjith and starring Arya. The accident happened in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, during a dangerous car stunt that went wrong.

Raju was supposed to drive a car off a ramp so it would crash as part of the scene. But while the car was in the air, it spun out of control, flipped many times, and crashed hard. He was quickly taken to the hospital, but doctors said he had already passed away. The heartbreaking visuals of the accident are now doing rounds on social media and news channels.

Raju was from Kanchipuram and was known for doing brave and exciting stunts in many Tamil movies. Actor Vishal, who worked with him often, said he was heartbroken and promised to help Raju’s family. Many others, like famous stunt choreographer Stunt Silva, also shared their sadness and said Raju’s death was a big loss.

This tragic event has sparked new discussions about safety on movie sets in India. So far, neither Arya nor the film’s director Pa. Ranjith has made a public statement about the accident. We, at 123telugu, offer our heartfelt condolences to SM Raju’s family, friends, and the entire film community. His courage and dedication will always be remembered.
