The skyrocketing movie ticket prices at single screens and multiplexes across the country have been a long-standing issue movie lovers have been facing for years. The ever-increasing ticket rates and even the popcorn and cold drink prices are breaking the back of the middle-class moviegoers, which is directly affecting the film’s box office collections.
Popular Tollywood actor Nikhil took to X on Saturday evening and raised concerns over the exorbitant rates at theaters. Saying that high ticket rates should be capped, Nikhil went on to say that the bigger issue is “Selling popcorn and cool drinks at insane prices.” He went on to reveal his recent ordeal. “I watched a recent film in a theatre and was shocked i spent more money on snacks than the actual Movie. I Request the Distribution circles to please address this concern so we can have more Audience enjoying Movies on the BIG SCREEN,” said Nikhil.
Nikhil concluded his tweet, saying, “At least allow us to take our Water bottles into the Theatres.” Within no time, the Swayambhu and The India House actor’s posts received a unanimous response from his followers, who couldn’t agree more with his views. Well, are the distributors and exhibitors listening?
