After Good Night and Lover, Tamil actor Manikandan scored his third consecutive hit with the family drama Kudumbasthan, which was released in the last week of January. The film was a dark horse at the box office, collecting over Rs. 25 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Kudumbasthan’s revenue is two times bigger than Good Night’s collections.
According to the latest reports, this latest blockbuster is expected to have its digital release on March 7 in multiple languages. ZEE5 holds the post-theatrical streaming rights. An official announcement will be out soon. The movie is directed by Rajeshwar Kalisamy, who also penned the story along with Prasanna Balachandran. Saanve Megghana played the female lead.
Kudumbasthan tells the tale of a youngster who is the sole breadwinner in a middle-class family. He strives hard to make ends meet, and in this process, he gets entangled in a series of problems. Guru Somasundaram, R. Sundarrajan, Kudassanad Kanakam, Balaji Sakthivel, and Varghese Mathew played key roles. Vaisakh composed the tunes.
