Suriya’s Retro will compete with HIT 3 and Raid 2 at the box office from May 1. The romantic action entertainer, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is expected to be Suriya’s comeback after a string of failures. Star heroine Pooja Hegde plays the female lead. In a recent interview, the director shared an interesting detail.
“This particular film will have a 90s-style presentation. Not technically, but the treatment will be in that zone. For example, the narrative format will be like Mani Rathnam sir’s Thalapathi,” stated Karthik Subbaraj. Earlier, the filmmaker revealed that he wrote Retro’s story for Rajinikanth, and later changes were made to the script to suit Suirya’s image.
Jyotika and Suriya produced this flick under the banner of 2D Entertainment. Santosh Narayan composed the music. Vijay Deverakonda will attend the Telugu pre-release event that is scheduled for tomorrow. Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments will present the film to the Telugu audience.
