Suriya’s Retro is slated for release on May 1. The film, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, also stars Pooja Hegde. Expectations are high for this action-packed love story. After Retro, Suriya will appear in a movie directed by RJ Balaji. Apart from these two, the National Award-winning actor has a film with Vetrimaaran titled Vaadivaasal.
Filming should have commenced long ago, but the project has faced multiple delays. Vetrimaaran has spent considerable time on pre-production, focusing on animatronics. The latest information from producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu is that Vaadivaasal makers are aiming to bring the film to theatres during Summer 2026. The film will be released either in May or June 2026.
The shooting will kickstart this year, and Suriya has already allocated his call sheets to this flick. The musical sessions are underway, and GV Prakash Kumar already finished recording a song. Vaadivaasal is based on Tamil Nadu’s most celebrated traditional sport, Jallikattu.
