Adivi Sesh, who has been wearing various hats as an actor, director, and writer, will next be seen in the movie Dacoit. Cinematographer Shaneil Deo, who worked on Sesh’s acclaimed thrillers Kshanam and Goodachari, is directing Dacoit. The Telugu-Hindi bilingual features Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.

Lately, gender bias in the industry has sparked discussions, and Adivi Sesh wants to change the perception that films are solely led by heroes. Talking to Mid-Day, Sesh said, “Dacoit is a two-hero film. It’s a love story, and the genre demands equal emotional weight from its leads. I never felt Dacoit was a film with just one protagonist. It’s a story of two layered characters, both central to the world we’re building. I have always believed that stories thrive when ego takes a backseat.”

Adivi Sesh spoke highly of his co-star. As the writer of Dacoit, Sesh stated that he can confidently tell the story he envisioned, with Mrunal playing the other lead. The actor-director-writer added, “We’re both outsiders, and that shared sense of having earned our place brings an unspoken understanding between us. We’re the kind of actors who will do whatever it takes for a film. That’s why Dacoit feels like a two-hero film.”
