Thalapathy Vijay and AR Murugadoss’ latest political drama, Sarkar, released yesterday amid an unprecedented hype. Although critics response was mixed to average, die-hard fans have lapped up the movie big time. As a result, Sarkar has registered record openings all-over.
In Kerala, Sarkar has beaten Baahubali 2’s record to set a new opening day record. While Baahubali 2 collected Rs 5.45 crore gross on its day 1 in summer last year, Sarkar collected a humongous Rs 6.60 crore gross. It will surely take a long time to beat this record.
