Rukmini Vasanth on Toxic: “It’s unlike anything we’ve seen in Kannada cinema”

Toxic is shaping up to be the next big thing in Kannada cinema. KGR star Yash is leading the film, which is being directed by Geetu Mohandas. The project recently grabbed attention after rumours floated around about a possible postponement. But the makers quickly put those talks to rest, confirming that the film is very much on track for its March 19, 2026 release.

Rukmini Vasanth, who impressed everyone in Kantara: Chapter 1, is also a part of Toxic. She has reportedly completed a couple of schedules, though the team hasn’t officially confirmed her role yet. But during a recent Instagram Q&A with fans, Rukmini herself hinted at the experience of working on the film. Talking about Toxic, she said, “It’s unlike anything we’ve seen in Kannada or Indian cinema so far. It’s raw, layered, and everything in between. Geetu’s vision is bold and very human at the same time.”

Naturally, comments like that have only raised the buzz around the film, and fans are now even more curious to see what the team has in store.

The cast is already stacked, with Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria also on board. Produced by Venkat Narayana under KVN Productions, Toxic is billed as a large-scale pan-Indian film, and more updates are expected very soon.
