The Revanth Reddy-led Telangana government has announced its plan to make Hyderabad the capital of the Indian film industry. The CM unveiled his plan during a high-level meeting that was also graced by Tollywood star producer and Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, Home Department Special CS Ravi Gupta, Information Department Commissioner Harish, FDC Executive Director Kishore Babu, and others.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of the Ministerial Sub-Committee on film industry development Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday instructed the Information Department Commissioner and Film Development Corporation officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to develop Hyderabad as the Indian cinema capital that attracts film professionals from across India and the world.
The minister also highlighted the necessity to set up a single-window system under the FDC to help filmmakers obtain permissions for film shoots from the police, fire services, and municipal bodies without significant challenges. The authorities also discussed the steps to be taken to control the overpricing of food and other items at cinema theaters’ canteens.
Furthermore, the RCS Committee overseeing the Chitrapuri Colony for cine workers will be invited to the next meeting. The government is also determined to organize the first-ever Telangana Gaddar Film Awards function on June 14 in a grand manner.
