After making a lot of noise for the past few days, the period rural romantic drama, Raju Weds Rambai, opened in cinemas worldwide yesterday (Nov 21). Critics and the audience showered praises on the film’s lead actors, the old-world rural charm, and the hard-hitting climax.
Thanks to the decent word of mouth and the positive buzz on social media, Raju Weds Rambai grossed Rs 1.47 crore at the box office across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on its day one. This is a solid opening for a film of this scale and budget, and the collections are set to rise over the weekend. The film has clocked an impressive 9.3/10 rating and 41.7K ticket sales in 24 hours on the Book My Show app.
Raju Weds Rambai features young actors Akhil Raj Uddemari and Tejaswini Rao in lead roles. Debutant Saailu Kaampati has directed the movie, while Venu Udugula produced it under the Dholamukhi Subaltern Films banner.
