Today marked two eventful chapters in Tamil Nadu’s film and political worlds. Earlier today, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief and popular Kollywood star Thalapathy Vijay began his 98-day statewide political tour in Tiruchi in his run-up to the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
And in the evening, Kollywood Superstar Rajinikanth heaped praises on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Addressing MK Stalin as “my friend and honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,” Rajini went on to describe Stalin as the “star of Indian politics” who challenged old and new opposition parties to enter the 2026 general elections with a smile.
Rajini’s praise for CM Stalin on the very day Vijay began his political tour has raised several eyebrows. Fans of both the stars and CM Stalin are busy decoding Rajini’s motive to choose this day to express his views on the CM, while he has not yet extended support to Vijay.
