Mammootty, the renowned star of Mollywood, is gearing up for the release of his latest movie, Bramayugam, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, which hits big screens tomorrow. However, ahead of its highly anticipated release, the film underwent a significant change.
A family from Kerala filed a case against the makers, seeking to halt the film’s release due to concerns over the use of their family name in the movie and the negative portrayal of witchcraft. After careful examination, the court ordered the team to change Mammootty’s character name from Kunjamon Potti to Kodumon Potti to address these concerns. The dark horror thriller revolves around Mammootty’s character practicing black magic, which raised apprehensions within the family.
Produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and Sashikanth under the Night Shift Studios LLP and Y Not Studios banners, Bramayugam features Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, Amalda Liz, and others in pivotal roles. Adding to the movie’s allure, Christo Xavier serves as the film’s music director.
