Photo Moment: Padma awardees meet Padma Vibhushan Chiranjeevi

Megastar Chiranjeevi is not just a star hero but he is also a great humanitarian. Recently, he was conferred with Padma Vibhushan by the central government. Many bigwigs from political parties and TFI are meeting and congratulating the legend. Today, Chiru invited Padma awardees to his house. He felicitated Yakshagana artist Gaddam Sammayya, belonging to Telangana, and Dr. Anandachari Velu.

Gaddam Sammayya hails from Devarappula mandal of Janagaon district. He is a Chindu Yakshagana artist who gave more than 19000 performances. He became famous with the Keechakavadha stageplay, in which he acted as Keechaka. In 1994, he received the Telugu University Merit Award, and in 1995, he received the Kala Ratna Award from the Governor at the Telugu University Anniversary. In 2017, he received an award from the Telangana state government.

Dr. Anandachari Velu played a vital role in reconstructing the Yadadri temple with Krishna stone. Holding the position of main sthapathi, he worked day and night as a sculptor. The walls of the Ashtabhuja mandapa were designed in the Kakatiya, Dravida, and Chola style. He was trained in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.

Chiru heaped praise on Gaddam Sammayya for infusing life into Chindu Yakshagana, which is on the verge of extinction. Also, Chiru congratulated Dr. Anandchari Velu on receiving Padma Shri. Megastar thanked the central government for honoring such artists and for recognizing such art forms. On this occasion, Chiranjeevi appealed to the central and state governments to protect our arts as well as artists and support their families. Dr. Anandchari Velu and Gaddam Sammayya stated they were extremely happy as the mighty Megastar congratulated them by inviting them to his house.
