There were a lot of eyebrows raised when the 2016 hit film, Pelli Choopulu was ignored by many award ceremonies in Telugu. But things have taken a sharp turn as the film has now been rewarded with the National Award for the best Telugu film for the year 2016.
These awards were announced a short while ago in Delhi and Pelli Choopulu won the award pushing back many other hit Telugu films. Directed by Tharun Bhaskar, this film had Ritu Varma and Vijay Devarakonda as the main leads.
