Sister-Midnight

If you’ve been waiting to watch Sister Midnight, the wait is (kind of) over. The dark comedy starring Radhika Apte is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in India, but here’s the twist: you’ll need to pay to watch it.

Directed by Karan Kandhari, Sister Midnight made its debut at Cannes in 2024 and later hit Indian theatres on May 20, 2025. It got a lot of praise from critics for being bold, quirky, and refreshingly different – so naturally, people have been curious to check it out.

While it was already available on VOD platforms outside India for a while, Indian audiences didn’t have access to it until now. But instead of being included in the regular Prime subscription, Sister Midnight is currently available only as a rental, and it’ll cost you Rs. 149.

Since it’s no longer running in theatres, this is the only way to watch it right now. If you’d rather not pay, you might have to wait a bit longer until Amazon decides to make it free with the subscription.

The film is produced by Alastair Clark and Anna Griffin, with a solid supporting cast that includes Ashok Pathak, Chhaya Kadam, and Smita Tambe. The music, composed by Paul Banks, adds a moody vibe that fits perfectly with the film’s offbeat tone.
