After a brief paywall period, Bollywood’s murder mystery comedy Housefull 5A and 5B are now available to stream for free on Amazon Prime Video. Each version previously required a separate Rs. 349 rental, but both are now included with a standard Prime subscription.
Released in June 2025, the film stood out for its unusual storytelling format – two parallel versions, each with its own twist ending and culprit. The idea of releasing two interpretations of the same story created buzz among audiences and added replay value to the franchise’s signature chaos.
Despite mixed critical reception, Housefull 5 opened strong with Rs. 24 crore on Day 1 in India and eventually grossed nearly Rs. 289 crore worldwide. With a production budget of Rs. 240 crore, it managed to recover most of its investment through theatrical revenue and pre-release deals, including Rs. 90 crore from OTT rights alone.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film features a star-studded cast: Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, Johnny Lever, Chunky Pandey, Shreyas Talpade, and Nana Patekar.
Now that both versions are freely available to stream, viewers can finally watch the complete narrative as intended – no rentals, no restrictions.
