OTT: Amazon Prime Video’s trailer for Keerthy Suresh’s Uppu Kappurambu fails to impress

Keerthy Suresh’s upcoming film Uppu Kappurambu is scheduled for a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. The film will be available for streaming from July 4, 2025. Today, the digital platform launched the trailer, which unfortunately fails to leave a positive impact.

Set in a fictional village called Chittijayapuram, the film revolves around a woman (Keerthy Suresh) with zero political experience who is made the head of the village. The plot takes a dramatic turn when the person in charge of the burial ground (Suhas) reveals that there is space for just four more bodies, leading to a chaotic series of events.

The trailer attempts to present a quirky storyline, but several scenes go completely overboard and fall flat. Instead of creating excitement, the trailer feels like an incoherent mix of forced humor and exaggerated drama. Whether the film can redeem itself remains uncertain, but going by the trailer, expectations are low at the moment.

Directed by Ani.V. Sasi and produced by Radhika Lavu under Ellanar Films, Uppu Kappurambu also features Babu Mohan, Shatru, Talluri Rameshwari, Subhaleka Sudhakar, Vishnu Oi, and Sivannarayana in supporting roles.
