Each year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) which presents the Oscar awards, invites several world film personalities to join the Academy. AMPAS has published a global list of members who have been invited to join the Academy in 2020.
Leading Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Alia Bhatt, Costume Designer Neeta Lulla, Executive Producer Priya Swaminathan, VFX Producers Vishal Anand (WAR, Bharat) and Sandeep Kamal (Panipat and Jal) have been invited as the members of the Academy this year.
In recent years, globally recognized Indian film celebrities such as AR Rahman, Irrfan Khan, Resul Pookutty, Freida Pinto, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone and others were invited by the Academy.
