Noted actress denied entry to temple; Alleges religious discrimination

Popular actress Amala Paul has had a bitter experience when she visited the famous Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple in Ernakulam, Kerala, on Monday. The actress was reportedly denied entry to the temple. Amala Paul, a Christian by faith, has cited her religion and alleged ‘religious discrimination’ following her ordeal. The Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple, like many other temples in Kerala and a few other states, allows only Hindu devotees into its premises.

Even though Amala has not made any public statement on the incident yet, she reportedly written about her experience in the temple’s visitors’ book. “It is sad and disappointing that religious discrimination still exists in 2023. I couldn’t go near the Goddess but could feel the spirit from a distance. I hope there will be a change in religious discrimination soon. The time will come and we all will be treated equally and not on the basis of religion,” Amala reportedly wrote in the visitors’ book.

Amala Paul was last seen in The Teacher, which was released in December. She will be making a special appearance in Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa, an official Hindi remake of Karthi’s super hit action drama, Kaithi.
