Superstar Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s gangster action drama Coolie is gearing up for a grand release on August 14. Despite the not-so-great trailer, USA premiere pre-sales are in rampage mode. Lokesh’s fans firmly believe that the filmmaker intentionally released a trailer without many high moments to surprise audiences in theatres.
Today, the film’s Telugu pre-release event was held in Hyderabad, where Coolie’s villain, King Nagarjuna, made sensational comments. He stated, “From the moment Lokesh started narrating, I found the plot very interesting. I asked Lokesh if Rajini Garu had really agreed to this story. That was my first question, because my role was dynamic and almost like a hero.”
Nagarjuna added, “Lokesh presents his villains as powerful as the hero. Especially Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi’s roles were brilliantly designed in Vikram. They also had solid elevations. Even the Agent Tina character brought the roof down.” Nagarjuna’s comments sparked immediate discussion on social media.
Some netizens are saying that Nagarjuna shouldn’t have made such unnecessary comments, which might project him in a bad light. Very recently, Nagarjuna made a similar statement about his role in Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa, which invited trolls. The actor is once again facing heat for his remarks.
