Naga Vamsi opens up about Daaku Maharaaj’s underperformance in theatres

Balakrishna and Bobby’s Daaku Maharaaj is now ruling Netflix charts. The stylish action entertainer has become the most discussed topic on social media, with the film’s clips going viral all over. Balayya’s mass performance, Thaman’s background score, and Vijay Karthik Kannan’s spectacular visuals are being applauded by one and all.

Despite receiving a positive response from critics, this action drama underperformed in theatres and failed to reach the breakeven mark in a few regions. At the promotional event of Mad Square, Naga Vamsi shared his thoughts about the same. He said, “Since Venkatesh Garu’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam became a blockbuster, the momentum shifted, and it took the lead. It is definitely disappointing since we didn’t get the expected revenue in theatres.”

Naga Vamsi added, “Daaku Maharaaj performed well in Balakrishna Garu’s strong zones. When it comes to Lucky Baskhar, it was aimed at multiplex audiences. But that film was affected by Amaran, which also had multiplex appeal. We are happy since Venkatesh Garu and Dil Raju Garu scored a massive hit for Sankranthi. I am happy with Daaku’s result too, but it would have been great had the film got more reach in theatres.”
