Uppena, the much-awaited romantic drama featuring debutantes Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty as the main leads, was supposed to release in summer earlier this year. However, the lockdown had delayed the release. Even though the makers were offered crazy deals by OTT platforms, they decided to not skip the theatrical release.
Until recently, there were reports that Uppena may release during the upcoming Sankranthi season. But with a handful of movies gearing up for release around the same time and the audiences yet to throng theaters like before, Uppena makers seem to have decided to postpone their film until March next year.
An official announcement regarding Uppena’s release date is expected soon. Debutant Buchi Babu Sana is the director of Uppena and Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings banners have bankrolled the film. DSP is the music composer.
