Mohanlal made his directorial debut with Barroz 3D, which is also the most expensive film in his career and in Mollywood. With a budget exceeding Rs. 150 crores, the movie was released in multiple languages on December 25, 2024, but received disappointing reviews. Now, it’s back in the spotlight with the announcement of its OTT premiere.
Disney Plus Hotstar has confirmed that the movie will be available for streaming on January 22, 2025, in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. The Hindi version will be released later. While the theatrical release was in 3D, only the 2D version will be available on OTT, and the response to this shift remains to be seen.
