It’s well known that master filmmaker Mani Ratnam is currently helming the ambitious period epic, Ponniyin Selvan. The film is based on a book with the same title penned by legendary Tamil author Kalki. Now, Ponniyin Selvan is all set to have a competition in the form of a web-series.
An aspiring Tamil filmmaker named Ajay Prathap has announced a web-series, titled Chiranjeevi Ponniyin Selvan, based on Kalki’s Ponniyin Selvan. The shooting for this series will begin on August 18 and the series will begin streaming on a popular OTT platform from April 14 next year. Veteran composer Ilayaraja will be composing the music for the series.
