Sandalwood production house Hombale Films seems to have the Midas touch. Every project that the banner is taking up is turning out to be a massive success. After creating two iconic franchises, KGF and Salaar, Hombale has now laid a solid foundation for its next big venture, the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe (MCU) in association with Kleem Productios.

MCU is an animated saga inspired by the ten divine avatars of Lord Vishnu. Despite releasing alongside Hari Hara Veera Mallu and competing with latest sensation Saiyaara, Mahavatar Narsimha won the hearts of audiences and emerged as a sleeper hit. The film directed by Ashwin Kumar has now achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the highest-grossing animated film in India.

Mahavatar Narsimha surpassed the Hollywood blockbuster Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to achieve this landmark. It has grossed Rs. 60 crores in India so far. Surpassing an established Hollywood franchise is no small feat and this is a moment of pride for Indian animation. The Hindi version is going bonkers with a nett collection of Rs. 38 crores, and the other language versions are also holding well.

The upcoming films in the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe include: Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dwarkadhish (2031), Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033), Mahavatar Kalki Part 1 (2035), and Mahavatar Kalki Part 2 (2037).
