Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, the new Malayalam superhero film, has taken off at the box office. Produced by Dulquer Salmaan, it got off to a great start in its first weekend, and the makers are pleased with how viewers have embraced it.

In an interview, director Dominic Arun revealed that Lokah isn’t just a one-off project but the beginning of a five-part series. He also mentioned that all the scripts were ready even before work on the first film began.

He also dropped a small clue for fans: the main villain of the entire series appears briefly in the animated title card. That one hint has sparked plenty of theories online about who the character might be.

The success of Lokah has also opened the door for more Malayalam superhero stories rooted in folklore. When the next chapter of Lokah will arrive is still unknown, but for now the makers are simply enjoying the ride.
