Tamil superstar Vijay’s highly-anticipated gangster drama, Leo, is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on October 19. Also starring Trisha, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun in lead roles, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is carrying a lot of expectations among fans and trade circles, and even the pre-release buzz has been extremely positive so far.
Meanwhile, Leo has pulled off a massive feat on the popular ticket booking platform BookMyShow. With over 367.4K interests, Leo has surpassed hero Prabhas’ pan-India action drama, Salaar (364.4K), to become the most anticipated Indian movie of the season. What’s impressive about Leo’s numero uno feat is that the film was behind Salaar in BookMyShow interests for several weeks, but finally gained momentum just a couple of weeks before its release and went on to beat Salaar despite the minimal buzz across North India.
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa The Rule (114K), Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Aaadujeevitham (111K) and Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 (110K) are the other most eagerly awaited movies in BMS top 5 movies currently. Surprisingly, Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki, which will be clashing with Prabhas’ Salaar on December 22, has only 79.5K interests on BMS.
