Vishwak Sen’s much-hyped Valentine’s Day release, Laila, has turned out to be an absolute disaster at the box office. The film, in which he dons a female get-up, was expected to be a bold and entertaining experiment. However, it ended up being a major embarrassment, failing to impress both critics and audiences.

From the moment of its release, Laila has been met with brutal criticism. The film’s weak screenplay, cringe-worthy dialogues, and outdated humour have made it one of the most poorly received films in recent Telugu cinema. Many are questioning Vishwak Sen’s script choices, with fans and critics alike slamming him for taking up such a weak role instead of focusing on meaningful content.

The box office numbers paint an even worse picture. In the last 24 hours, the film has sold less than 7,000 tickets on BookMyShow, a humiliating figure for a movie on its second day. With disastrous reviews and no audience interest, Laila is on track to be a colossal flop, likely disappearing from theaters by the end of its first weekend.

The film, directed by Ram Narayan, features Akanksha Sharma as the female lead and is produced by Sahu Garapati under the Shine Screens banner. Even Leon James’ music couldn’t salvage this sinking ship.

With Laila bombing spectacularly, Vishwak Sen’s choice of scripts is under serious scrutiny. If he doesn’t rethink his approach, his career could take a serious hit.
