Kriti Sanon has collaborated with director Aanand L Rai for the romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein, which stars Dhanush as the protagonist. The movie is gearing up for release in November 2025. Aanand L Rai has now reportedly set his eyes on his upcoming production, which will be a fantasy drama.
According to a recent report in Mid-day, the director is keen on casting Kriti Sanon and Yami Gautam in the lead roles for the project, tentatively titled Nayi Naveli. The movie is said to draw inspiration from Indian folk tales, blending mythology with modern storytelling.
The report mentioned, “Rai has been particular about the story’s tone — he wants it to feel rooted in Indian folk tradition, but have a big-screen fantasy appeal. Kriti Sanon will be seen as part-folklore heroine, and part-mystical warrior. Now, they are in talks with Yami Gautam for a meaty role. The two actors haven’t shared screen space before, and that novelty will grab eyeballs.”
If everything goes well, the makers will conduct workshops with the actresses in November before commencing the principal photography in December. The majority of Nayi Naveli’s shoot is reportedly planned in Mumbai.
