Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, crossed the 900 crore gross mark at the box office. In a recent roundtable, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar heaped praise on this action drama.
Karan Johar said, “To me, Animal is the best film of 2023. It took me a while to reach this statement and a lot of courage because you fear judgment when you are around people. I loved Kabir Singh too. I thought If I said I liked Kabir Singh, I would have got dirty looks from certain people. But I don’t care anymore.”
Karan added, “I loved Animal for its front-footed conviction-based narrative, breaking myths, breaking grammar, breaking everything which was considered stereotypes in mainstream cinema. The interval sequence and climax are well crafted. The movie is made by somebody distinct and so individualistic. The acceptance of Animal is game-changing.”
