Vishnu Manchu’s ambitious mythological drama Kannappa is set for a grand theatrical release tomorrow, riding high on buzz and anticipation. The film features Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Akshay Kumar in key roles and is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, making it a truly pan-Indian spectacle.
Speaking to the Telugu media earlier today, Vishnu Manchu revealed that the censor board had asked for a few cuts to ensure a smooth release in Hindi. Although the intention was to present the story of Kannappa and his deep devotion to Lord Shiva in an authentic way, certain scenes, like placing a foot on the Shiva Linga and pouring water from the mouth onto the idol, were deemed sensitive.
To avoid hurting sentiments, the team agreed to remove those scenes along with a few minor edits. Now, the focus shifts to how Kannappa will be received across North India.
The film also stars Mohan Babu, Kajal Aggarwal, Sarathkumar, Preity Mukudhan, Madhubala, and others in prominent roles. Produced by Mohan Babu, the film’s music is composed by Stephen Devassy and Mani Sharma, adding spiritual depth to this mythological journey.
