Vishnu Manchu’s ambitious project, Kannappa, is coming to big screens on April 25, 2025. The film is surrounded by good buzz since it features Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal in crucial roles. Mukesh Kumar Singh, who directed the Star Plus’ Mahabharata show, is helming this flick. Vishnu has already started giving interviews about this devotional action drama.
In one of the interviews, Vishnu spoke about Mohanlal’s role. He said, “Mohanlal Garu’s episode will shock people. Shiva Balaji is also a part of the film, and I showed him rough footage of Mohanlal sir’s episode. As he wasn’t aware of the complete story, he was awestruck by the rushes. People will be startled to learn about an untold episode of our Indian history.”
Vishnu added, “The episode I am talking about has been part of earlier films, too, but none have shown it more elaborately than I did. Vijayendra Prasad Garu was the one who suggested this idea. Old films centered around Kannappa just mentioned this particular episode but not in detail. We are going to tell a lesser-known chapter in history through Mohanlal Garu’s sequence.”
