IPL 2025: CSK beats MI at Chepauk

This Sunday, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns at the Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The clash between these teams is considered El-clasico of IPL. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first. MI experienced a big jolt as Rohit Sharma was dismissed without scoring a run.

Wickets kept falling continuously within the powerplay, adding to the woes. Just when MI captain Surya Kumar Yadav and Tilak Varma were going well, CSK bowlers picked their wickets and put the home team back in the driver’s seat. Deepak Chahar delivered some fireworks in the end, helping MI post a decent total of 155.

CSK’s innings didn’t start well either since they lost their opener, Rahul Tripathi, very early. However, Ruturaj played a captain’s knock with a splendid strike rate, putting his team in a good position. Ruturaj was expected to finish the game for his side, but he was dismissed after reaching 50.

CSK lost a few more wickets in the middle overs, making things interesting. However, Rachin Ravindra, along with Jadeja, took CSK home by playing the situation. Ravindra scored a fine half-century and helped his team win the first match. CSK scored the target with five balls to spare.
