Suriya is aiming to make a massive comeback with Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film features Pooja Hegde as the leading lady and is slated to hit the screens on May 1. In a recent interview with Galatta, Pooja Hegde revealed that she was cast in Retro because of Radhe Shyam.
The star actress said, “My role in Retro is completely different. The thing I love about the South is that there is an element of mystery. I got cast in Retro because Karthik sir liked my performance in Radhe Shyam. I had two emotional scenes in Radhe Shyam, and after seeing them, Karthik Subbaraj sir believed he could cast me in a film like Retro.”
Pooja Hegde added, “It just takes one filmmaker to put away everything else and see your performance in order to give you another film.” Despite Radhe Shyam’s poor performance, it helped Pooja land in an exciting film like Retro. The movie features Shriya Saran in a special dance number. The excitement around this romantic action drama has soared with the recently released glimpse.
