Kantara: Chapter 1 is right now one of the most awaited Indian films. Just two weeks are left for its worldwide release in multiple languages, and while fans are eager, there’s also a sense of frustration.
The simple reason is this: no trailer yet. For a film so close to release, audiences usually expect at least one strong push in the form of a trailer, but apart from a teaser and a few posters, including the character ones, there hasn’t been much. Naturally, people are starting to wonder if Rishab Shetty is holding back because he isn’t fully confident about the project.
At this point, the makers really cannot afford to keep quiet any longer. Silence only fuels more chatter, and the audience wants clarity. A straight update about the trailer, or at least some hint of what is coming, would do a lot to settle the doubts that are floating around. After all, fans have been repeatedly asking for something fresh to hold on to, whether it is the trailer or even a new round of promotions, just to keep the buzz alive.
The stakes are massive, especially in the Telugu states where the theatrical rights alone fetched a whopping Rs. 100 crore. With numbers like that, the film needs strong visibility to match expectations. Playing low-key at this stage could make it an uphill task to create hype and pull the kind of collections that justify such a big deal.
Word in the industry circles is that the trailer could land before September 20, 2025. If that happens, it will give the film a much-needed push. What remains to be seen, though, is how the team plans to hold the momentum all the way until release day.
The movie has Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead, Ajaneesh Loknath handling the music, and Hombale Films backing it.
