Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter had a very good first weekend, but the movie dropped heavily on its first Monday, which shocked the trade pundits. Though the reviews and word of mouth were good, the drop in collections came as a shocker to all. After the heavy crash, the movie had a decent hold from Tuesday without much drop, but there was a disappointment since the film didn’t get the expected numbers.
In a turnaround of events, Fighter started showing momentum from the second Friday by collecting 6 crores nett. Yesterday, Fighter showed tremendous growth at the box office and earned about 11 crores nett. For a film that crashed on Monday, this is surely a welcome sign, and something like this didn’t happen recently.
The film is having another good day at the ticket windows today, and till now, Fighter is said to have earned more than 165 crores net in India. On the other hand, Fighter is having a superb run in overseas. The aerial action drama raked in 9.67 million dollars in international markets, which is nearly 80 crores. It is the highest-grosser for Hrithik Roshan in North America, beating War.
The film will cross the 300 crores gross mark today. If Fighter can show a good hold from Monday, then it is likely that it might get the “Hit” status. Deepika Padukone played the female lead. Siddharth Anand directed this flick, which also had Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi in pivotal roles.
