HIT 3, the latest crime thriller starring Natural Star Nani and directed by Sailesh Kolanu, is performing well at the box office. Backed by strong word-of-mouth and gripping storytelling, the film has connected with audiences across the Telugu states.

While the performances and direction have been widely praised, the background score by Mickey J Meyer received mixed reactions from some viewers. Addressing the criticism, Mickey took to social media and reflected on a similar experience he faced 18 years ago with Happy Days. “A very senior technician complained… ‘What is this garbage? Just one guitar, one piano here and there.’” He added, “I get the same feeling now with the HIT 3 score. It’s a strange feeling. I feel great things coming my way!”

He clarified that the minimalist score was intentional and matched Sailesh’s vision for the film. “Scene elevation is by far the easiest part of a score… Sailesh did not want over-the-top music, and it took me a while to understand his vision,” Mickey explained.

Though he rarely responds publicly, he felt the need to share his thoughts this time. “Make no mistake, the score in HIT 3 is successful in supporting the movie — just not in ways some people are used to.” He also expressed gratitude, saying he survives in the industry by the grace of “my Lord and savior Jesus Christ” and the support of Telugu audiences. Many have since come out in support, including director Sailesh Kolanu in a recent interview. Fans now await to see if Nani also responds.
