Rajinikanth’s latest release, Coolie, hit theaters around the world on August 14, 2025. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film came with massive expectations from fans, but the response after release was mixed.
Despite this, Coolie managed to pull in around Rs. 300 crore globally by the end of three days, setting a record as the fastest Tamil movie to reach that mark.
In the Nizam region, the film made about Rs. 10.5 crore over three days, with Rs. 2.5 crore coming from day 3 alone.
On opening day, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 performed better than Coolie in the Telugu states. However, over the weekend, Coolie gained momentum and has now taken the lead in collections compared to War 2.
Even with an average audience response, the movie is doing well at the box office. Trade experts are now watching closely to see how much more it will add to its total.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the film stars Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir in key roles, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
