Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah scripted history by emerging as the first South Indian female-led film to gross over Rs. 100 crores. The film, directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan, is on track to go past the Rs. 200 crore milestone in the long run.
The film was released in Telugu as ‘Kotha Lokah’ by Naga Vamsi. The dubbed version is also performing well, and according to trade reports, Kotha Lokah earned over Rs. 5.5 crores gross in its six days of run in the Telugu states. What’s impressive is that the Telugu version is displaying a good hold on weekdays too.
It will be interesting to see how Kotha Lokah will fare in its second weekend, as three new films are scheduled for release at the Tollywood box office. Apart from the strong content, Dulquer Salmaan’s brand image also helped the Telugu version register good numbers.
