Kollywood actor Suriya has been going through a rough patch as his recent films didn’t click at the box office. Up next, he is testing his luck with the rural action drama Karuppu, which marks his first collaboration with RJ Balaji.
The movie was supposed to be released for Diwali 2025, but due to extensive CG work, the release didn’t go ahead as planned. The latest speculations indicate that the makers are targeting a January 23, 2026, release to capitalize on the extended weekend, which also includes the Republic Day holiday.
An official confirmation is awaited. On Diwali, the makers unveiled the first single ‘God Mode’, composed by Sai Abhyankkar, and it is fetching a good response. Trisha plays the female lead, while SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu are bankrolling the project under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner.
