Yesterday a PAN Indian film named Kabzaa starring Upendra and Shriya Saran in the lead roles was released in theatres. The period action drama opened to mostly negative reviews all over. Many felt that the film was a rehashed version of KGF.
On the other hand, Naga Shaurya’s Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi (PAPA) also hit the screens. This love drama fetched mixed responses from the audiences. While Kabzaa raked in nearly 16K $ in the USA, PAPA fared comparatively better and made 22K $ in this region.
PAPA marks the third collaboration of director Srinivas Avasarala and Naga Shaurya, in which Malvika Nair played the leading lady. The multilingual film Kabzaa was directed by Chandru R and had Sandalwood star heroes Kiccha Sudeepa and Shiva Rajkumar in key cameos.
