Action hero Gopichand has been looking for a solid blockbuster which will revive his career. His latest spy thriller, Chanakya, is hitting screens worldwide on October 5. But what surprised everyone is that Chanakya will be clashing with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s highly-anticipated patriotic drama, Sye Raa. In a latest promotional interview, Gopichand opened up about Chanakya’s clash with Sye Raa.
“We started off Chanakya with a plan to release it in May. But the shoot was delayed after I was injured. Later, we planned to release our film on October 3. Sye Raa’s release date was not announced until then. But when they locked October 2 for Sye Raa’s release, we moved to October 5. We felt that Chanakya could benefit from the Dasara holiday advantage. Besides, Chanakya and Sye Raa belong to two completely different genres,” Gopichand said.
