Actor Shine Tom Chacko, known to Telugu audiences from Dasara and recently seen in Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly, has found himself at the center of serious controversy.
Malayalam actress Vincy Sony Aloshious recently shared a video on Instagram, revealing a disturbing experience on a film set. She alleged that a co-star misbehaved with her during a costume change and hinted that the actor was under the influence of drugs. While she didn’t name anyone in the video, she later filed a formal complaint with AMMA, identifying Shine Tom Chacko and mentioning the film Soothravakyam.
The video quickly went viral, sparking industry-wide discussions. Film bodies including AMMA, FEFKA, and the Film Chamber urged her to pursue formal action, while the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) extended their support and raised concerns about the absence of an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on the film’s set.
Amid the growing public and industry attention, Shine Tom Chacko reportedly fled from a hotel in Kochi during a surprise police drug raid. Around 11 PM on Wednesday night, the DANSAF team conducted a targeted operation following a tip-off.
By the time officers reached his room, the actor had allegedly jumped from the second floor into a swimming pool, escaped through the emergency staircase, and exited via the hotel lobby. CCTV footage of his dramatic escape has since surfaced, adding fuel to the already heated controversy.
