Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki took a slow start at the box office. As per the trade estimates, the movie raked in about 58 crores gross at the worldwide box office. The action drama films are dominating the box office post-pandemic in Bollywood and all the biggest grossers in 2023 are action entertainers.
Dunki has fared better than Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, which also falls in the same genre, but as the names attached with the film are so big, the opening numbers are way below expectations.
The Christmas weekend is going to be key for the film in the Indian market. As far as overseas is concerned, holidays will start from Monday and will last till New Year. We need to see how the movie will make use of this holiday period.
Dunki also stars Taapsee, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Grover, Boman Irani, Vikram Kocchar, and others in prominent roles. Pritam composed the music. Gauri Khan and Rajkumar Hirani produced the film.
