Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah is smashing the box office left, right, and centre. The film is now the all time second biggest grosser of Mollywood and is poised to emerge as the industry hit. Dulquer Salmaan produced this flick by investing Rs. 30 crores. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Dulquer said that he expected the film would be a loss venture.
“As a producer, I thought that we’ll lose money on Lokah. We know it’s good film, but the budget is high and initially buyers were not interested. I thought if this franchise is established, we might earn profits through the upcoming films. But the magnitude of this success is unimaginable,” said Dulquer Salmaan.
The versatile actor added that their team is now under pressure since expectations have increased by leaps and bounds after the first part’s success. The team is highly elated with the overwhelming response to the film which also emerged successful in Telugu and Tamil apart from Malayalam.
