Farhan Akhtar announced Don 3 with Ranveer Singh long ago, but the film is yet to go on floors due to multiple issues. The director is now planning to begin production in January 2026. According to a recent report in India Today, the third installment will likely feature Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, who previously essayed the role of Don and captivated audiences.
The report stated, “Industry insiders say both Bachchan and Khan are considering the offer. While no official confirmation has come in, the possibility of seeing three generations of Don on screen together is exciting. If this materialises, it will mark the first time the trio, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ranveer Singh, will share screen space.”
When the project was first announced, it faced backlash from netizens who felt that SRK should have headlined it. If the latest news turns out to be true, it might reduce the negativity surrounding the project, since audiences will not miss out on the original dons.
