It is known that young filmmakers Deva Katta were roped in to direct Baahubali: Before The Beginning, a web series based on the epic Baahubali duology conceived and executed by Rajamouli. Netflix announced the project amidst much fanfare. But things didn’t fall into place and the project was put on the back burner.
Speaking about the series, Deva Katta said “Netflix envisioned Baahubali web series as the India’s very own Game Of Thrones. But for a series of this scale, we need to allot at least over 10 years. I wasn’t prepared for it and that is the reason why I opted out,” Deva Katta said.
Meanwhile, Netflix has roped in a Bollywood team for Baahubali: Before The Beginning series. Bollywood actress Wamiqa Gabbi is on board to play Sivagami in the series.
