Rajinikanth’s Coolie is making waves in North America with mind-blowing pre-sales. Already, the gangster action drama directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has emerged as the all-time top Kollywood grosser for NA premieres by a huge margin. Coolie has achieved this record just with the advances that are currently over $2.6 million.
The Telugu version’s gross for premieres is over $730K so far, and the film can add even more before the shows commence. The Telugu pre-sales are the highest in 2025, surpassing biggies like Game Changer ($655K) and Hari Hara Veera Mallu ($503K), a rare feat which might be difficult for other dubbed films to achieve.
If the reports are good, then it will be a piece of cake for Coolie’s Telugu version to achieve $1 million from premiere shows alone. Rajini and Lokesh’s combination is creating a sensation of sorts everywhere, strengthened further by the ensemble star cast, including Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj.
