Coolie generated massive buzz prior to its theatrical release as it marked the first-ever collaboration between Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Adding to the hype, stars like Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Sathyaraj brought even more attention to it.
The movie was released on August 14, 2025, alongside Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR’s War 2, and gained mixed reviews from audiences. Now, after completing 25 days in theatres, the film has arrived on Amazon Prime Video. It is streaming in four South Indian languages – Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The Hindi version is currently unavailable and will premiere after the 8-week theatrical-to-OTT window. Aside from that, it remains to be seen how OTT audiences will receive the film.
The movie also features Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Kanna Ravi, Maaran, Pooja Hegde (in the Monica song), Reba Monica John, and others. Sun Pictures backed this biggie, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.
