Pranav Mohanlal’s recent horror hit Dies Irae has turned into a breakout phenomenon in Mollywood. The Rahul Sadasivan-directed film shocked the trade with collections above Rs. 82 crore and built a strong following among horror fans across India.
The OTT conversation around the film has now taken an unexpected turn. The first platform to hint at the digital premiere is Simply South, a service not available in India. The streamer teased the release with a post featuring the hair clip, the film’s primary MacGuffin.
Industry trackers maintain that the digital rights belong to Jio Hotstar, although the platform has not confirmed it. Meanwhile, Simply South is expected to drop the film for streaming on December 5, 2025, in multiple languages.
Dies Irae features Sushmita Bhatt, Gibin Gopinath, Shine Tom Chacko and Jaya Kurup. The film is produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth, with music by Christo Xavier.
